Meet our Doctors

Dr. Richard Noyes is one of the leading practitioners in the United States. He has held adjunct faculty positions at numerous teaching institutions training both new and “seasoned” doctors. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on Eye Disease, Eye Injury, Glaucoma, Contact Lens advances, New Medications, New Diagnostic Technology, Blood Testing, Diabetic Eye Disease and a variety of other topics.
Dr. Noyes has served as president of the Iowa Optometric Association and has served two terms as an appointee of the governor on the Iowa Board of Optometry Examiners. He has been honored as both the “Young OD of the Year” in Iowa and the “OD of the Year.”
Dr. Noyes has served on numerous state and national doctoral committees and chaired the national Primary Care and Ophthalmic Disease committee, as well as serving as a member of the Refractive Surgery Committee. He has authored many clinical articles for doctors’ magazines and is frequently quoted or featured in articles for clinical journals and was a contributing author to the “Practice Guidelines on Conjunctivitis” in both the original guideline and the most recently updated guideline for doctors nationally. He is a contributing author for a new medical textbook for eye doctors.
Dr. Noyes also enjoys spending time with his wife and five children boating, grilling, traveling and attending their many school and church activities. He has led 13 medical missions delivering free medical care to over 100,000 people. |

Dr. Kimberly Cruise was born and raised in Cedar Rapids. She graduated valedictorian from Kennedy High School and earned a music scholarship to attend Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She graduated with honors in three years. She attended Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL and graduated in 1998. She graduated 2nd in her class of over 400. She earned several awards for clinical excellence including the Bausch & Lomb contact lens award.
Dr. Cruise joined Iowa EyeCare in August of 1998 after being chosen from a pool of hundreds of doctors. She is currently a member of a local Lion's Club and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity. She has been invited to become a member of the Clinical Board of Examiners in Optometry. Dr. Cruise enjoys teaching and lecturing and serves on the Education Committee of the Iowa Optometric Association.
Dr. Cruise’s husband, Chris, teaches mathematics at Washington High School. He is also the head men's swimming and golf coach. He runs an instructional competitive swimming clinic during the summer months. They have two children, Tyler and Conner and enjoy camping and traveling together as a family. |

Dr. David W. Christensen came to Iowa EyeCare in August of 2000 after graduating from the University of Missouri—St. Louis School of Optometry. His clinical interests include contact lens fitting and management of eye diseases. Dr. Christensen received the top award in his class for “excellence in clinical care” and was one of two to receive a similar award for his expertise in contact lens fitting. He is also active in the Iowa Optometric Association, currently serving on the Membership Committee.
Dr. Christensen grew up in Grimes, IA which is a suburb of Des Moines. He graduated from Dallas Center-Grimes High School where he was active in athletics (football, basketball and golf). He then attended Buena Vista University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology while earning Cum Laude honors. He also participated on the golf team at Buena Vista where he was twice named an Academic All-American. He also finished in the top ten at the conference tournament his junior and senior year earning All-Conference honors in the Iowa Conference. Dr. Christensen is married to Lindy, who is a full time mother. She is active in volunteering at St. Pius Elementary School and St. Pius Church. They have 3 children—Shelby (born February, 1995), Brady (November, 2000) and Kale (September, 2004). As a family, they enjoy traveling and playing sports. |

Dr. Dennis Francis joined Iowa EyeCare in January 2002. He is originally from the state of West Virginia. There he attended West Virginia University earning a Bachelor's of Arts in Biology. He then attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago where he earned his doctorate in Optometry. After earning his doctorate he joined a large private medical ophthalmology practice in Rockford, Illinois. He worked there for 4 1/2 years with a strong emphasis on the treatment of ocular disease and surgical management. His greatest clinical interest is in ocular disease.
Dr. Francis resides in Robins with his wife, Karen, and three young daughters. He and his family attend Faith Bible Church in Robins. His interests include archery, fishing, canoeing, hiking, and other outdoor activities with the family. Outside of his involvement with church and family, Dr. Francis' passion is hunting with the bow and arrow. His spare time is spent each autumn in the passionate pursuit of the Iowa whitetail deer. |
